Royal Doulton Character Jug, Jane Seymour D6747 (black and gold coloration). Designed by Peter Gee. Series: Henry VIII and His Six Wives; Royalty, issued 1986 - 1990. Size: 2.75"H (mini)
While serving as lady-in-waiting to both Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour (1509 - 1537) attracted the attention of Henry VIII. She refused any proposal from the king except marriage, a factor leading to the trial of Anne. Two weeks after Anne Boleyn was beheaded, Jane Seymour became the third wife of Henry VIII, and the only one to bear him a male heir. She died shortly after Edward was born, and was the only wife to be buried at Henry's side.
