Arriet's husband 'Arry is also a costermonger, plying his trade in London. He is a variation of the Pearly Boy character jug. The original design featured the word "Blimey" across the back, but it was never produced.

A song by Sir Harry Lauder, a 20th-century singer and comedian, called "Bang Went Sixpence." inspired this piece. In it a Scotsman named Mac found the prices too high in London because every time he made a move, "band went sixpence," which is incised on the back of his tam, below "Auld Mac."

This jug has minor color variation in the hair. The earliest jugs had brown hair, and later jugs either grey or white hair. This jug was produced with and without pink highlighting on the raised character name.

This set was issued in 1994 to commemorate the Diamond Anniversary of the revival of the traditional Staffordshire jugs by Charles Noke in 1934. It was issued in a limited edition of 2,500 and came with a diamond shaped wall stand.
