Rio de Janeiro's carnival is one of the world's most famous. Scores of spectacular floats surrounded by thousands of dancers, singers and drummers parade through he streets dressed in elaborate costumes. It is an epic event that is televised around the world. Royal Doulton sculptor Shane Ridge has created all the figures for the Carnival Series. His aim was to create dramatic and contemporary sculptures with movement and interaction.

Royal Doulton's limited edition Prestige figures exemplify the highest quality, craftsmanship, and artistry in figure making. More than just collectables, Prestige figures are genuine works of art that can take months to create and decorate in detail. Each piece is handmade to order by the Royal Doulton artisans in England. Each limited edition is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity, and the moulds are broken once an edition is fully produced.
