Born in Stirling in 1942, Willie Carson was the first Scotsman to become Champion Jockey. Among his many racing achievements are his first major Classic win in 1977 in the 2,000 Guineas; also in that year the Oaks and St. Leger; and in 1980, the Derby. This jug was issued by Lawleys By Post in a limited edition of 2,500 pieces.

The A.R.P. (Air Raids Precautions) Wardens were charged with the responsibility of insuring that people were as secure as possible during an air raid. Armed only with his whistle, he would patrol the streets enforcing the "lights out please" signal and see that all citizens took cover as quickly as possible. The Heroes of the Blitz jugs were commissioned by Lawleys By Post in a limited edition of 9,500 sets.
