KINGSWARE

Kingsware was developed by Charles Noke and produced between 1898 through 1939, and no other factory in the world has been able to recreate the same lustrous finish. The rich, brown effects of the Kingsware glaze were achieved by painting the design in colored slip on the inside of the plaster mold, then the dark slip was added to form the body. The Kingsware subjects are numerous and always full of character. The Doulton Kingsware series includes whisky decanters, loving cups, tankards, tea and coffee sets, match strikers, tobacco jars, water jugs and miniatures. The unique Kingware glaze is one of the most interesting series from the Doulton Studios.
