A Woodland Christmas – 2017 Father Christmas Figure of the Year HN5855 – Royal Doulton Figurine

Designed by Neil Faulkner each Christmas figurine is only available for a restricted time. A Woodland Christmas depicts Santa seated on a log amidst the snow and surrounded by forest animals including birds, rabbits and deer, as he offers them a little festive cheer. He holds an apple in one hand and a little bird perches on his other hand, whilst a second bird cheekily looks on from the top of Santa’s fur lined hat. By his feet is a tempting bag of fruit and nuts.
Painted underglaze, this colorful study is full of nostalgia for Christmas’s past and is created with all the attention to detail that’s one of the much loved qualities of Royal Doulton’s figurine collection. Santa is dressed in traditional style with a fur trimmed red jacket, trousers and hat, fastened with a wide black belt and boots, and he sports a full and flowing white beard. The charming scene reflects the seasonal sentiment of goodwill to all.
