The A.R.P. (Air Raids Precautions) Wardens were charged with the responsibility of insuring that people were as secure as possible during an air raid. Armed only with his whistle, he would patrol the streets enforcing the “lights out please” signal and see that all citizens took cover as quickly as possible. The Heroes of the Blitz jugs were commissioned by Lawleys By Post in a limited edition of 9,500 sets.
