Royal Doulton, Wedgwood and Boehm

The lost techniques of fired ceramic arts comes to spectacular life at Whitley’s Auctioneers.

Whitley’s head auctioneer and founder, Arron Rimpley, is honored to present the private collection of Open Salts from the estate of world renowned Royal Doulton collector, Elaine Cooper, expert and author of the book Doulton Open Salts.

The auction also includes Royal Doulton Flambé manufactured under the supervision of Charles Noke in the early 20th century and rare, otherworldly Fairyland Lustre produced at Wedgwood’s Etruria Works ceramics factory in Stoke-on-Trent, by artist Daisy Makeig-Jones. Some of the rarest Royal Doulton Figures from three of the most important private collections in the United States are also for sale.

Christopher Evans is an author, historian and Royal Doulton expert based in England. Christopher will be leading a series of round-table discussions about the collection of Royal Doulton pieces for sale as well as in the auction.

Louise Irvine is the Director and Curator of the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts in Florida. A world-renowned ceramic expert, Louise will be celebrating the extraordinary Royal Doulton legacy at WMODA during her lecture series.   

Schedule of Events

Friday, January 18th: The weekend kicks off at noon with a preview of our showroom and auction.

Saturday, January 19th: Bid live at our auction! The first session of bidding begins at 10am EST. Lunch will be served from 2pm to 3pm. The second session begins at 3pm EST.

Sunday, January 20th: Our showroom opens at 10am. Joins us for a lite breakfast and another day of exciting shopping! You can also pick up your auction pieces from Saturday’s auction. The weekend concludes at 3pm.
