The Nelson Loving Cup commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Lord Horatio Nelson in 1805.
Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson (1758-1805) was a British admiral famous for his participation in the Napoleonic Wars, most notably in the Battle of Trafalgar a decisive British victory in the war during which he lost his life.
His actions during these wars meant that before and after his death he was revered like few military figures in British history. Nelson was noted for his considerable ability to inspire and bring out the best in his men, to the point that his actions became known as: The Nelson Touch
Each Loving Cup is hand made and hand decorated in England and comes together with a numbered certificate of authenticity. Issued in 2005 in a limited edition of only 200 pieces.
The front depicts the portrait of Vice-Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson and the reverse his ship “Victory”. The Handles have the names and dates of Nelson’s most important battles namely: Battle of Calvi; St’ Vincent; Santa Cruz; Nile; Copenhagen and Trafalgar.
