The Return of Persephone HN31 – Royal Doulton Figurine

“The Return of Persephone” is a Charles Vyse pottery figure, a very rare early model produced in 1913 for Doulton Burslem, depicting the goddess Persephone returning to her mother, Demeter. In ancient times, the spring equinox marked the return of Persephone from the Underworld. Only two models of this figure are thought to have been produced.
