Napoleon Bonaparte was Emperor of the French from 1804 until 1814, and again briefly in 1815 (during the Hundred Days). He rose to prominence during the French Revolution and dominated European affairs for more than a decade. The Royal Doulton Napoleon Character Jug bears a special backstamp and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
