Royal Doulton Character Jug, Ugly Duchess (Bone China) D6603 (green, purple and pink coloration). Designed by Max Henk. Series: Alice in Wonderland, issued 1965 – 1973. Size: 3.5″H (small)

The Ugly Duchess lives in Wonderland and plays croquet with the Queen. Alice found the game a curious one, with live hedgehogs for balls, flamingoes for mallets and playing-card soldiers, who doubled over to serve as the arches.
