In Charles Dickens’s class, “David Copperfield”, Wilkins Micawber is Copperfield’s landlord and friend. A sanguine idler, Micawber unmasks Uriah Heep as a villain and is rewarded with passage to Australia, where he settles happily in a prominent neighborhood.
