About the studio:

Bairstow Manor Pottery is a family run business based in the heartland of the world’s pottery industry – Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The third generation of Bairstows now help to keep up the tradition started in 1938 by Percy Bairstow, our founder. Percy saw active service with the RAF during the Second World War where he attained the rank of Squadron Leader.  The name Bairstow Manor Pottery only came about in 1979, when Roger Bairstow, son of Percy took over the reins, having worked in the family business since leaving school. Roger & Brenda Bairstow have been in charge ever since, and have steered the company through some very lean years for the Pottery Industry in North Staffordshire. A time which has seen a lot of the small pottery firms – and some very big ones – go out of business. That they are still thriving today owes a lot to Roger & Brenda’s commitment and vision to keep producing the kind of collectable items demanded by the world’s collectors.
