Sir Walter Raleigh is a very rare historical figure designed by Leslie Harradine and issued from 1935 to 1949. Decorated in a rich green, purple and orange colorway, it is modeled as the proud royal favorite of Queen Elizabeth I. Raleigh sailed to America in 1584, returning with cotton, potatoes, and tobacco, none of which had been seen in Europe.
